Basajjabalaba’s Mother Dies

BUSHENYI; The Basajjabalaba family and Kampala International University, both in Uganda and Tanzania are mourning the passing of Hajjat Azida Basajjabalaba, the beloved mother of Hajj Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees (CBOT).

According to a family announcement, Hajjat Azida passed away in Cologne, Germany. A vigil will be held at her home in Kalungu Bunga, while burial arrangements are set to take place in Bushenyi District. Further details will be communicated by the family.

In a condolence message issued by Kampala International University, the institution extended heartfelt sympathies to Hajj Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba and the entire Basajjabalaba family.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hajjat Azida Basajjabalaba, mother of our esteemed Chairman. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Hajj Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba and the entire Basajjabalaba family,” the university statement read.

The university further prayed for Allah (SWT) to grant her eternal peace and mercy: “May Allah grant Hajjat Azida Basajjabalaba’s soul peace and mercy, and may her legacy live on through her children and loved ones. May Allah comfort the family during this difficult time.”

Hajjat Azida was known for her kindness, humility, and devotion to her faith a woman whose quiet strength and compassion touched many lives.
