BREAKING: Hajji Issa Sekitto Named Acting Chairman of KACITA as Dr. Thadeus Musoke Steps Down for Politics

In a major leadership shake-up, the Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) has appointed veteran trade champion Hajji Issa Sekitto as its new Acting Chairman. The unanimous decision came during an extraordinary Executive Board meeting held on August 4 at KACITA headquarters in Kampala.

The move marks a new chapter for one of Uganda’s most influential business associations, as it seeks steady leadership during a critical transitional period for both the organization and the country’s wider business landscape.

Hajji Sekitto, a respected voice in Uganda’s trade sector for decades, steps into the role with immediate effect.

This leadership change follows the resignation of Dr. Thadeus Musoke Nagenda, who is exiting the role to pursue his political ambitions. The Board praised Dr. Musoke for his “outstanding service and dedication” during his tenure.

“This transition allows Dr. Musoke to fully focus on politics while reaffirming KACITA’s commitment to remain non-partisan and focused solely on advocating for Uganda’s business community,” the Board said.

KACITA has called on all members, partners, and stakeholders to rally behind Hajji Sekitto as he takes the helm of the Association during this pivotal moment.

With traders and entrepreneurs across Kampala and beyond looking to KACITA for direction, all eyes are now on Hajji Sekitto’s next move.
