KAMPALA, UGANDA ;Carrefour Uganda has launched a special Christmas campaign, “Care for All,” inviting shoppers to embrace the festive spirit with significant discounts and a focus on community and generosity.
The retail giant announced discounts of up to 50% on a variety of products across its stores, aiming to help families and friends celebrate the holiday season. The sale covers a wide range of categories, including groceries, fresh produce, household essentials, electronics, festive treats, and decor.
The initiative reflects broader trends in the retail sector, where supermarkets are increasingly using price cuts and bundled offers to compete for customers and maintain foot traffic during the festive rush. For many shoppers, the ability to access food items, household goods and gifts under one roof has become a key consideration, particularly as time constraints increase toward the end of the year.
Shoppers say the discounts have influenced their purchasing decisions. Meliisa, a customer at one of Carrefour’s stores, said the offers had made it easier to plan for the season. She noted that being able to buy groceries, gifts, décor and electronics in one place reduced both costs and the time spent shopping.
Beyond pricing, the campaign also speaks to growing attention on affordability and access in Uganda’s retail market, especially during peak seasons when demand typically pushes prices upward. By maintaining discounted prices across a wide product range, Carrefour positions itself as a one-stop outlet for households managing festive expenses.
As Christmas approaches, retailers are expected to intensify promotions to capture last-minute shoppers. Carrefour’s Care for All campaign runs during this period, targeting consumers stocking up for celebrations, gift-giving and home preparations as the year draws to a close.
